How to paint oil barrel.

First i  use AK true metal oil colar. This is base color .

Then press paint with  the old washing sponge. its better use very dry sponge..not lot of paint.

Then i use argex earthshade. 

Final edit with ak motor oil. and now you can also make scratch with a knife. and scratch  other details.

How to make cement floor.

Cement floor.

This is very easy way to make  cement floor. Basic material is on modelling material, very fine sand and few shade gray paint. 

Spread modelling material over to base.  Then  put  gray paint and sand  on modelling material. 

Next step is mix all together. Use lot water , but put it only with finger.  Sand gives little rough surface, but its fits well on workshop. Maybe sanding dust fit better if need smoother surface.

Photos are not very good hard see different grey shade.

Final step is weathering  cement floor. This depends which  purpose floor will be come.  My floor come to workshop., so its very dirty, Base weathering i use Citadel earthshade. I mix its lot of water because  without  water is too dark.

   last one is detailing floor oil patch etc. and dry brushing it  with light gray if floor is too dark.

This tree is made from metal wires.  if you have't read thats tips click links. How to make metal wire tree. When i make tthat tree i use commercial products on foliages. Its comes very expensive. So i must try make some cheaper than that.
you need only dyed coffee/tea dust and felting wool.

How to make wood shingle roof and paint it.

How to make wood shingle roof and paint it.

I make  Wood shingle  from paperboard.  This is not fast way but roof  looking good and very detailed.

Cut slices of paperboard and make  Wood shingle.  All parts not need be same size.  Old time  wood shingle self-made, and were not exactly the same size.  This will facilitate a little bit of your work.

Then i use  universal glue to draw the shingles.  If you make old roof  as i do this job . its not necessary to use a ruler.  You can attach the shingles handheld .  Old wood shingle move little. but if make new wood shingle roof its better use ruler.

 

Next it’s time to paint roof.  I use neutral grey.

 Next step is add Citadel earthshade. thats give nice shadows .

Final  step is drybrushing  roof  whit lifecolor weathered wood set.   This two color  UA717 AND ua718 give very nice color . Wood shingle  looks like dry and old wood.  I love to use lifecolor  paint. Paint does not make  cover the trace so yuo  can paint very detailed roof.

How to paint to look like old log.

This is very easy way to paint  look like to old log!

Need some base color some wood brown is good.

Then i paint neutral grey. it can be painted carelessly. It's better if paint is unevenly.

 Old log needs  some cracks.

Then i use black panel line accent all over old logs, Its absorbs  black every crack

 Last step is dry brushing some very light color. I use lifecolors wood cold light shade paint.

If some parts go too light or cover details you can use again Tamyia panel line accent colors.

Old time is very typical use  moss from insulation. And this  give nice details to old logs!
